A love of learning is instilled at this charming prep, where
science is brought alive with state-of-the-art equipment, and the boys are
encouraged to experience rather than just learn by rote, bringing great
vitality to their education. Relationships between the school and the parents
are important: ‘It all comes down to communication’, says popular Head, Tom
Bunbury. Prize Day doesn’t simply focus on academia – the most prestigious
prize each year is for the boy who exhibits three qualities: enthusiasm for
life, contribution to the community, and kindness to others. This is echoed in
the feel of the school, described by a researcher as ‘a happy, joyful community
of boys and teachers who are kind to one another and enjoy their life together’.
