Parents praise this welcoming prep that overlooks Ascot racecourse and offers its pupils ‘space, adventure and a boy-focused education’. Jovial head Tom Bunbury is, according to one father, ‘possibly the best educator I’ve ever encountered’. And Papplewick’s holistic approach is lauded too: ‘The school supports a wide range of pupils: there are plenty of scholarships every year on the chapel boards, but the less naturally academic won’t feel left behind’. Frankly, we’re surprised there’s any room left on the chapel boards, with leavers nabbing awards to Tonbridge, Westminster and Eton. With 70 per cent of boys playing an instrument and nearly 1,000 sporting fixtures a year, these pupils are certainly contributing at every opportunity.
