The science department is extremely well resourced with two purpose built laboratories. We believe in a practical and dynamic approach to learning, using experiments and investigative work whenever possible. Biology, Chemistry, and Physics are taught as part of an integrated programme that also includes scientific enquiry. From years 2-6 the programmes of study are based on the National curriculum and the Common Entrance 11+ syllabus. This gives our boys the preparation they require for the demands of the Common Entrance 13+ Syllabus. The scholarship curriculum in Year 7 and 8 is based on the CE syllabus but goes into much greater depth and requires a much broader understanding of the topics covered.

There are currently two popular science clubs for boys to join: the Herpetology Club which consists of some 90+ snakes, bearded dragons and other fantastic creatures, and the Rocket Club where boys make and launch their own rockets up to 1000ft into the air!
