In their kart built in the D&T workshop, three year 6 boys won 'best presentation of a kart' and 'overall winner of the time trial slalom' competitions.
Three Papplewick boys raced their very own electric kart this weekend at
Seaford College last weekend. The event was organised by Greenpower Education Trust who
is a UK based charity which gets young people enthusiastic about science and
design technology by challenging them to design, build and race an electric

their kart, the boys tested the ‘Papplewick Shark’ on the school playing fields
in preparation for slalom, drag races and pit-stop time trials at Seaford
College. All three boys took turns racing their kart against 26 other karts and
ultimately won two prizes: Best Presentation of a Kart and overall winner of
the Time Trial Slalom competition. A splendid day was had by all.
