For the first year ever, both the 1st and 2nd XI took on the might of a highly skilled staff team on 7th November. At half-time, the 2nd XI had set up a 5-2 advantage but great character was shown by the staff to claw back to 8-8 by full time against the 1st XI.

Mr. Ratcliffe, the staff goalkeeper, has been asked to return to Australia at the end of term to continue his career in Aussie Rules following the disappointment of letting in 8 goals...the most ever by a staff goalkeeper at Papplewick!
